Yves Saint Laurent passed away on June 1, 2008. Although I still cannot afford the luxurious clothing from his namesake design house, I deeply respect this man. His influential tight and bold silhouettes and the elegant bags created under his namesake is proof for how inspirational he is. He created pant-suits with square shoulders, smoking jackets, safari jackets, and tuxedos, but yet perfected the androgyny with billowy peasant blouses and fitted, flouncy couture gowns in dramatic and bold colors.
[The current designer for YSL is Stefano Pilati]

the news is really sad. I'm really going to miss his innovative style.
