China Fashion Week

I've never followed up on China fashion week, but now that I look at these pictures, the designs are very innovative. Checkkk it out.

Did you see those mini swirls and drapings? Amazing handiwork right there, and this is all mostly the work of young designers fresh from fashion institutes. Plus, look at that..uh..mask thing. Phantom of the Opera!

This picture is slightly creepy, but I have to say, if you look closely there's some really cool textures that amazing fashion grads managed to do with fabric! Plus..those shoes = love.
The way they styled this (with the face covering and spoooky lighting) reminds me of ancient historic stone statues. You know, the kind with no face but if you stare at it for a long time it seems like there's a face? *shudders*

Double, Triple, Quadruple decker dresses! Although the colors are very halloween-y, I do appreciate the bold statements they're trying to make. Imagine the shadow a dress like that would make!

Dotty for Polka Dots

Cruella de Vil (Disney character). Christian Lacroix Spring 2008

I just couldn't help it.

While I'm at it, visit http://www.furisdead.com/, and form an opinion of your own!

Chanel gone silver (and sparkly)

Chanel Spring 2008 Couture

This Chanel look on Kate Bosworth seems like a bold move for her, especially the silver arm warmers. I love the pin that she added (it attracts attention but yet doesn't make the look "too busy") , and the dress length nicely shows her toned legs. This whole look is very silver and sparkly, which is usually the look one finds on princess halloween costumes (Ah..the 5-year-old days..), but it's really starting to grow on me.

Right: [runway] Han Jin

I have to admit, I'm really starting to like the arm warmers. I think they'd be useful on rainy spring days in Seattle. (You know what I'm talking about... those days when the weather is depressing but you absolutely must wear your new short sleeve shirt/dress/etc.)

Too bad Sanjaya didn't try this...

Just For Fun; Zucca Fall/Winter 2008 RTW show in Paris.

If only Sanjaya had the skills to pull this off. (For those of you who watched American Idol last year, he had some ..uh..to put nicely "interesting" hairstyles. That was the only reason I watched..)

Ode to Christian Siriano

You're full of so much attitude
It puts us in a good mood
The world says "fierce" because of you
Even though you're so young, we never said "boo"
Keep on being confident, it has worked so far,
You've set the standard, you've raised the bar.
You keep your goals in mind, you know exactly what you want,
I dream of conversing with you over tea and a crossaint
For such a young designer, you know what to do
You work so hard to be confident, my role-model is you.
Congratulations on the Project Runway win,
Christian Siriano, you are SOO "in"!

...Not a bad poem for off the top of my head, right?...

Hurry to http://www.projectrunway.com/, and you can have the chance to participate in auctions for the designer's items...straight off the runway! The money goes to the HOPE foundation.

Viktor & Rolf; Fall 2008 ready-to-wear

DREAM ON! NO! DREAM! Nooo you missed it again! DREAMDREAM. Is that not big enough for you? Let me try again.
DREAM. Did you finally see it? You better have.
When designers have too much on their mind and piles of extra fabric. They can't pick up a pencil and write it out, because then their mind would wander and they would start sketching. Therefore, they must incorporate their feelings/words-of-wisdom/ramblings into clothes. Duh.
